Mental Health & Wellness Mission

To promote the health needs of the Black male by connecting with Black health professionals cross industries, to activate a new practice of understanding health as wealth by caring for the mind, body and soul.

Addressing Trauma and Mental Health Challenges
Black males often face significant trauma from experiences like racism, discrimination, and violence, which can profoundly affect their mental health and well-being. Untreated mental health issues can lead to broader challenges, impacting all aspects of life. Research shows Black men are more likely to experience conditions such as anxiety, depression, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), often linked to higher exposure to violence. Yet, stigma surrounding mental health frequently prevents them from seeking help.
Our Collective Impact
Our mental health and wellness programs empower young Black men and boys by supporting their social, physical, mental, emotional, and cultural well-being. We connect Minnesota’s Black communities with trusted healthcare services, resources, and Black healthcare professionals. Through safe, inclusive spaces, we encourage open discussions on race, masculinity, identity, health, and social justice, fostering resilience and helping prevent violence among young men of color.

Our holistic approach recognizes wellness across multiple dimensions: physical (body), mental (mind), emotional (heart), environmental (surroundings), spiritual (soul), and cultural (identity). By addressing these interconnected aspects, our services provide comprehensive support tailored to the unique needs of Black men and boys, promoting healing and growth.
