Dr. Cerise Lewis, hailing from Minneapolis, MN, is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT) and Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) who specializes in empowering individuals to navigate their life challenges and improve their overall well-being. A Chemical Engineering graduate from Hampton University, Dr. Lewis initially embarked on a corporate journey at 3M before transitioning into the non-profit sector. However, her desire to help others navigate relationship problems and mental health issues led her to earn a master's in Marriage and Family Counseling Therapy from Capella University. Now, with over 25 years of experience in corporate and therapeutic settings, she offers guidance to clients dealing with depression, anxiety, infidelity, and other mental and relational concerns. Her approach is grounded in family systems and narrative therapy and incorporates faith and spirituality as necessary.
Dr. Lewis further continued her education, earning a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision from Capella University, highlighted by her ASERVIC Research Award-winning doctoral dissertation. Today, she works not only with individuals, couples, and families, particularly within communities of color, but also provides supervision to prelicensed clinicians. Additionally, she serves as an adjunct instructor at Yorkville University and Spring Arbor University, training future counselors to be culturally responsive and competent while integrating faith into clinical practice. Dr. Lewis's passion extends beyond her private practice as she's a proactive member of numerous professional associations, including AAMFT, ACA, ACES, MAMFT, AACC, and MACC. Balancing her professional life, she cherishes her family time with her husband, six adult children, and three grandchildren, serves as a women's ministry leader at her church, and enjoys gardening, movies, and spectator sports.
