Huda Omar is a dedicated and proficient licensed graduate social worker with a special focus on clinical mental health and psychotherapy. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and a Master's in Social Work from the University of Minnesota. As an advocate for anti-oppressive practice, Huda upholds principles of transparency, non-judgment, support, inclusivity, and empowerment in her work with clients. Her primary objective is to create a safe and comforting space for individuals to express themselves freely and vulnerably, allowing them to progress toward their healing objectives.
Huda embraces the understanding that most chronic mental and emotional afflictions are deeply rooted in trauma, which shapes her therapeutic approach. She skillfully employs a variety of techniques from mindfulness meditation, inner child work, cognitive behavioral therapy, and Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy. Throughout her career, Huda has worked collaboratively with healthcare professionals to offer targeted treatment plans to clients battling serious and persistent mental illnesses. She also brings her linguistic skills as a native Somali speaker to assist Somali-speaking clients.
