Dr. Kimmery Newsom, renowned for her empathetic approach, provides individual, couple, and family therapy with a specific interest in assisting women with trauma experiences, couples struggling with communication issues around sex and past trauma, and adolescents. Dr. Newsom holds a BS in Psychology, an MS in Marriage and Family Therapy, and a Ph.D. in Family Studies from Kansas State University. Her credentials also include being a Life Coach, a Certified Family Life Educator (CFLE), a Certified Sex Addiction Treatment Provider (CSATP), and a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in KS, MN, and WI. With over 17 years of experience working with individuals and couples, her coaching focus encompasses areas such as sexual trauma, relationship dynamics, depression, anxiety, sex addiction, and cultural issues related to racism and discrimination. An accomplished educator, Dr. Newsom has 13 years of teaching experience in universities, is a tenured professor at the University of Wisconsin-Stout, and has made significant contributions to research and literature, including a textbook and her own personal work. In her personal time, she relishes reading, music, writing, and quality moments with her children and partner.
